SWF It Good

So I haven’t done a show in a while and I’m happy to be doing another. To think last week I was hating my comedy and was so depressed about it. How wierd the human mind is. It all started with Friday’s Late Show at the Westend Comedy theater. I got to do about 18min most was imprompt to crowd work. It was the most fun as of yet on stage. Here that set.
Tonight I have an open mic at the Improv, though it’ll be the third one I’ve done there, I don’t want to do bad. But I don’t want to worry cause it’s not like they are going to have me go up regularly. I’m going to treat it like a show/ open mic, a little bit of exploration but professional. What’s on the list right now:

Like anyone but me and michelle knows what any of that means.
Oh, also I’m in talks with the president of Barking Spoon Productions about getting my own show (by the way that’s me). I want to do a videocast of ideas that are hard to do on stage. I a show called…say…The Josh Weatherspoon show. It would be 5-10min long once a month I want to start it in Jan and go through August, in a let’s say season fashion. That way I can think up of more crap and I will be able to get this small idea to materialize into something.

Well go to to go my work mac has rebooted.

So Dustin called and asked me if I wanted to host hyena’s again. I did want to at first cause I was going to go up at the backdoor and take it easy and be home by 10. By I didn’t want to pass the oppertunity because he many not ask again if I pass it. So I did it and it was good I was tired but it was good. I hosted the second show, Tom did the first. His did not go so well, unresponsive crowd.

Well this week I lost the first round of a comedy contest to a person who talked about her abortion for 5 mins. That was a waste. No offence but come on really that is going to be valid of a prize. Anyone can just shock people. Now a days everone thinks comedy is suppose to be like Jackass or Dave Attell. Both funny but comedy can’t just be Fart, molester, and dead baby jokes. That’s the knews you can be shock every day at 10pm if you want to hear about rape and abortion. How about we use our minds.

Shock comedy is not where the future or money is not unless your are very very clever. No one wants to listen to that stuff of 45-60 on a weekend. It get old, trust me.

They loved me, but when I went into my having kid jokes they acted like since they were gay they had never seen a kid so I changed subjects and got them right back. It was great!

Hey I can’t wait. I’m doing a Katrina Benefit at a gay bar. Rock n rolla.

Ever since I was a child and I saw Ghostbusters and Stripes. I was struck by something that I didn’t see in other people on screen. Yes Eddie Murphy was funny but all so flamboyent and got his laughs from being a jerk. But Bill was light, quick witted, so sudtle. In my childhood I would say Bill was Bugs Bunny and Eddie was Woodwood Pecker, Murray was more of a get even or crafty in his sceams. Murphy just pecked your freaking head and laughed at you.

That’s what I thought was funny about him. The magic word thing with Walter Peck (Ghostbusters) and the funny spatular thing with the girl on the stove (Stripes). I still love his work. If I could meet anyone person I think he’d be in the top five or the top one.

Man, If it wasn’t for Robin Harris I would not be the person I am today. Though I was only 7 or 8 when I saw this man’s HBO special I was floored, he was so funny. Yes, he is the Bebe’s kids guy, thought he was more then just that. Iit is funny to see how many people still bit off of that bit, unfortunately many black comedians. He is the only comedian I listened to as a child and went back a couple of months ago and listened to the CD and still loved it. I tried that with Kinison, Pryor, Murphy, and others and didn’t feel that timelessness of it. I felt like with those others I could place the decade and time.

From that point on I got a wierd drawing to comedy one that I never thought would become me being a comedian. He started it all that twinkle or small thought in my head that said being a comedian would be cool.

So a couple of hours ago I some how got…oh I was looking for something to do for a double date I have in a couple of hours. That is when I got to the sixth floor mueseum site, that took me to a Texas history site which took me to Boonie and Clyde, where I noticed they are both (including the surrounding fam) are buried here in dallas. Boonie just above Love field and Clyde off of Ft. Worth Ave. in the industrial part of town near the Main Post Office.

After looking for over an hour I noticed something…you need to treat your kids right and love you family, cause no one is going to tell your awesome story. There were many people on find a grave. Do you know who Greer Garson is? Well she was an actress she played Maddam Curee and won an Oscar for another movie. What about Arthur Demp? HE FOUNDED SEATTLE!!! The man founded Seattle and you probably had know idea what controbution he has made to America, fish, Cobain, Starbucks, this man founded Seattle. We search for fame and fortune and all this crap to die and have some guy who has nothing to do at 5:30 in the morning learn about you.

I hope these people were good to there kid cause a life dies even if it was on the silver scree or on wax. Name me 15 stars of the 1920′s. Name the Pulizter prize winner from last year. I bet you can’t even do that. In sixty years will anyone give to squirts about Bruce Willis, Hally Berry, or even the great Al Pacino (maybe Pacino). Have you been to a library lately it echos, “What have you done with your life,” and “Don’t waste your time writing books they may end up never being checked out” The vast amounts of books just availbible at the Dallas Library is amazing and that is just a small dose of what is out there and we can name how many authors besides the pop culture ones. I bet you if I was to die tonight, murdered by a serial killer toddler most people would not know my name 1 yr later and even more so ever read this blog that I keep.

So me and my wife have been working out for a while and we are happy with the progress that we have made but we want more. So have decided that we are going to wake up early and workout. We started this a week ago, the problem is that we have yet to work out in the morning. Alarm goes off at 5..5:15, my wife nudges me to turn it off, 5:30 she nudges me again to turn it off I do. 5:45 it goes of again, by 7:30 she is pissed and the day has started bad now.

The gym is wierd because there are alot of people doing wierd thing with metal and there bodies, you have lots of different kinds of people also for example: the jocks with there noise making, the cool guys who work out in packs and have some cool thing to teach the other of something they learned in Muscle and Fitness, then there are the sexies who come to train hard but for everyone to wish and lust after them, this could be guy or a girl both wear short short and have tans(if white). Then there’s the gay men they work out so sexual and feminine. They don’t do bench or stuff like that they do raises but all the way up to the sky in a fairy-like motion (no pun intended).

The muscle guys, when they flex, look like stacks of terds.
